What happened with the emancipating idea of education?
This book has been published by the Paulo Freire Zentrum with the objective to explore this question.
At the moment, political discussions in national levels, regional and global are oriented, in great part, through paradigms. The general principle is competition, and not sensibility. Do these tendencies take us to situations of convergence in education? Which spaces continue to have an alternative and autonomous education? Emancipation should naturally take us to divergences, due to human plurality.
The authors of this book have the intention to bother the historical “amnesia” in the global debate about education. They also want to contribute with politicization of the speeches in the areas of science and teaching.
